Side pot rules and all-in
Normally when a Texas Hold’em betting round is being played, then all the players must bet equal amount of chips or cash. But if one or more of the active players lack enough money to bet then they can choose to go for an all-in. in this scenario, the pot amount is split into main and side pot. The main pot has the amount which is the sum of the amount put by all the players who have opted for an all-in and an equal amount from rest of the active players. The remaining amount is put in the side pot.
The all-in players can now play only for the amount of main pot and the winner for the amount of side pot is chosen from other active players. There can be multiple side pots in case of multiple all-ins. The main pot also contains an amount which is put by players who choose to fold in the round. Their amount equivalent to the all-in amount is put to the main pot and extra amount if any goes to the side pot.
